  • Begin code development using to convert using NeoIntegrate version 1.4.660 to convert a CAI Softmed Transcription to Epic ADT
  • Client is reaching eGate component threshold within their test environment. Worked with client eGate System Administrator to create second Participating Host (PH) within Test schema on the same logical host. After completion, began moving Batch eWays and IQ’s from old PH to the new PH, also converted IQ’s from STC Standard to JMS Queues. Created documentation outlining individual steps performed to be used when this task is to be implemented into Production. Began testing and validation of the interfaces that have been moved with the end-users.
  • Performed training sessions with new Interface Analyst on eGate v5.0.5 SRE. Training sessions included functionality within the Monk Collaboration Editor, such as LOOP, CASE, DUPLICATE, DATAMAP, and LIST LOOKUP functions. Also had analyst perform troubleshooting and repair of End2End scenario interfaces.
  • Continue to work with Interface Analyst and end-users on long-dated Epic Support tickets. Awaiting testing of eGate code changes put in place to resolve an issue with specific messages needing to be filtered. Performed interface message analysis to provide examples of specific issue stated in tickets concerning patient guarantor name being displayed as patient name.
  • Continue troubleshooting secure ftp connection to New England Research Institute (NERI) in Boston. This sftp process sends imaging data related to a cardiac condition named Marfan Disease. NERI is conducting a nation-wide study with 12 other pediatric hospitals in the country. The sftp connection between CHM and NERI is failing because of a “reset” that originates from the Boston side. The connection drops prior to a userid or password being entered, so it’s very difficult to debug from the CHM side. I’m currently waiting for a network resource from NERI to help in troubleshooting this issue. One interesting point: I am able to connect and send data to the same server at NERI – but only from a Windows-based host. The “real” sftp process will run on a linux host and use perl scripts. Anytime the sftp is run from linux – NERI resets the connection, so it’s a bit strange that this only works under Windows. I have verified that we’re running ssh2 (secure shell version 2) on both sides. Hopefully the network resource from NERI will see something in their logs, firewall, etc.
  • Document ERMX process. This set of interfaces uses ftp and scp to send pdf files from an application named MUSE to a Cerner HIS. The pdf files contain EKG images that can be reviewed online by doctors using the Cerner application. I added new functionality to eGate SRE to perform the scp (secure copy). There are no existing eWays or connectors that perform this type of function in SRE.
  • Test ADT interface from Cerner to Telcor (lab). This is the first java collaboration used at Children’s. I wrote this as a type of tutorial for the in-house staff to use and become more familiar with java. All other eGate code at Children’s has previously been written in MONK.
  • Reviewed specifications provided by client for Paragaon Registration and Nebo systems.
  • Created interface spec for client utilizing vendor specifications as a reference.
  • Created ETD Nebo_ADT.ssc in eGate v4.5.3
  • Created Outbound eWay ewNEBO_ADT_OUT
  • Created Collaboration colParagon_ADT_to_Nebo_ADT and Collaboration Rule crParagon_ADT_to_Nebo_ADT
  • Created Collaboration Rule Script Paragon_ADT_to_Nebo_ADT.tsc using eGate v4.5.3 Monk Collaboration Editor.
  • Performed Alpha testing using sample data provided by client
  • Built eGate components in client eGate Test Schema
  • Modified Collaboration Rule Script to populate MSH Date/Timestamp in CCYYMMDDHHMMSS format
  • Modified Collaboration Rule Script to populate EVN Operator ID in ID#-Acct# format
  • Modified Collaboration Rule Script to populate Insured’s Name in LastName^FirstName^MiddleName format
  • • Modified Collaboration Rule Script to populate PV1 Discharge Disposition with code only.
  • Implemented interface into client eGate Production Schema
  • Modified Collaboration Rule Script to populate IN1 Insurance Plan with Insurance Company ID
  • Modified Collaboration Rule Script to remove special formatting on telephone numbers
  • Restarting eGate system after Hurricane Ike
  • Contacting system administrators of external system to provide connectivity
  • Re-establishing the connections
  • Looking for invalid records received from partner hospitals and making corrections and resending those records for processing.
  • Adding new physician in datamap
  • Resolving eGate alerts and fixing the runtime errors.
  • Researched Connectivity problem in HL7 Tcpip eWay. Live ADT feed to test had a huge backlog and discovered the slow down was the eGate to NEBO HL7 eWay. Turned on logging and modified the configuration to capture MSA data.
  • Created Integration test plans for a transcription interface. Build a highbred ETD to convert ORU HL7 messages to MDM HL7 messages. Resolved the ETD to eliminate template loading. Complete the JAVA collaboration to do the transformation of transcription messages Meditech to EPIC
  • Configured a bi-directional interface Meditech ADT to Olympus Endoworks/Unsolicited Endoscopy reports to Meditech. Created Java collaborations to do the transformations with custom resolved ETD to accommodate the special processing needed to do the transformation.
  • Created Interface Requirements Specifications for three new interfaces. Held Kick-off meetings with each user group to establish the development team, define the expected benefits and to establish the time line for completion.
  • Continued the Integration testing of Meditech ADT and Orders to SpeechQ and SpeechQ unsolicited  Radiology results to Meditech.
  • Built two standard eGate Java Journaling blocks that could be used with out modification for all the HL7 interfaces. One for before images and one for after images.
  • Researched a notepad display problem for SpeechQ journals. Downloaded Notepad+ free ware to inspect the records. Found  null characters inserted in  OBR23 field by the vendor.
  • Building three ADT interfaces simultaneously, Meditech to other ancillary with special processing (collaborations on the bob) for Merges (A34)  and bed swaps (A17).
  • Current Interfaces being developed are Meditech Bi-Directional to SpeechQ, Transolutions, EPIC, OBIX, Olympus Endoworks, and Witt

I work for a health system where we are interfacing Epic to numerous LIS systems throughout the system. We have an issue with POC whereby we do not sent POC orders outbound. Rather, the order is created when the meter is docked via Telcor. We have an issue with order ID matching since the order is never sent to the LIS from Epic and would just like to dialogue with someone who has worked with these interfaces.
