Software Integration Projects for End of September 08

Here are some highlights from some of the projects that Orchestrate Healthcare is working on for our clients.

  • Conducted eGate 5.0.5 SRE Training for 2 new employees
  • Performed troubleshooting on new Participating Host to determine why IQ Managers and eWays would not run. Discovered the Control Broker had been started under the wrong user ID.
  • Discussed interface group procedures for interface go-lives
  • Performed analysis and testing of processes in Epic EMR to discover how Guarantor Relationship of “Self” is effecting patient records in SMS.
  • Assisted interface analyst in resolving issue why eWay would not start and run. Publishing event type had been deleted from bob and subscription event type had been deleted from eWay.
  • Moved interface for Epic Systems EpicCare Inpatient Clinical System into production
  • Comprised full list of Batch eWays under original Participating Host that needs to be migrated to new Participating Host.
  • Coordinated testing with end users to validate Batch eWays are still operating correctly under new Participating Host.
  • Created a Project "prjLWADT2RadNetRslts" in JCAPS 5.1.3
  • Created a OTD "otdKMCADTInbound" in JCAPS 5.1.3 from ETD "kmc_msg_MSH_inbound" in DataGate 3.6.2
  • Created a OTD "otdKMCADTOutbound" in JCAPS 5.13 from ETD "kmc_ADT_outbound" in DataGate 3.6.2
  • Created following JCDs in JCAPS 5.1.3
1. jcdProLWADT2RadNet_A01
2. jcdProLWADT2RadNet_A02
3. jcdProLWADT2RadNet_A03
4. jcdProLWADT2RadNet_A05
5. jcdProLWADT2RadNet_A08
6. jcdRecLWADT
7. jcdSendRadNet

Apart from doing the new JCAPS 5.1.3 development, I conducted training in The Foundations of JAVA CAPS - SB-CAP-0501 on following sessions

  • Operators
  • Control Statements
  • Introducing Classes
  • Closer Look at Methods & Classes

Major accomplishments this week:

  1. Completed  interface code build and volume testing of inbound messages from Softmed Transcription Epic ADT using NeoIntegrate version 3.3
  2. Completed  interface code build and volume testing of inbound messages from Softmed Transcription Epic Results using NeoIntegrate version 3.3
  3. Performed interface code analysis and build on existing CAI code for converting Softmed_RISTrans_to_Epic_ADT using NeoIntegrate version 3.3
  4. Performed interface code analysis on existing Sybase CAI code for converting Softmed_RISTrans_to_Epic_Result  using NeoIntegrate version 3.3

Activities for next two weeks:

  1. Complete build and volume testing - Softmed_RISTrans_to_Epic_ADT using NeoIntegrate version 3.3
  2. Complete build and volume testing - Softmed_RISTrans_to_Epic_Results using NeoIntegrate version 3.3
  • Continue troubleshooting secure ftp connection to New England Research Institute (NERI) in Boston. This sftp process sends imaging data related to a cardiac condition named Marfan Disease. NERI is conducting a nation-wide study over 40 other pediatric hospitals in the country. The sftp connection between CHM and NERI is failing because of a “reset” that originates from the Boston server. The connection drops prior to a userid or password being entered, so it’s very difficult to debug this from the CHM side. After talking with a network resource from NERI, it appears they are prompting for a public key during the login. This process should only be prompting for a password. NERI is checking into the configuration on their server to so that it uses only password authentication.
  • Research eGate 5.0.5 SRE U1 upgrade. Children’s Hospital has only installed a single ESR into their eGate 5.0.5 SRE environment. Many other critical ESRs have never been installed. Because of this, certain problems are being seen with java collaborations and jms queues. In turns out these problems have already been resolved in previously released ESRs. After talking with Sun Microsystems SeeBeyond eGate Support, it appears the best path for Children’s would be to upgrade to the next release – eGate 5.0.5 SRE U1 (update 1). I downloaded the ISO images for this release from the Sun Microsystems website and am currently putting together an upgrade plan.
  • More testing for ADT interface from Cerner Millennium to Telcor (lab). A17 merge logic was added and successfully tested. Also modified A05 pre-registration logic. Added code to check a disk file that contains a list of clinics that are allowed to perform pre-reg’s.

Number of Service desk requests created: 6
Number of issues resolved: 15

Type of issues worked on specific for Epic Systems EpicCare Inpatient EMR:

  • Monitoring eGate 4.5.3 system and resolving the alerts and runtime errors.
  • Contacting system administrators of external system to provide connectivity
  • Re-establishing the connections
  • Looking for invalid records received from partner hospitals and making corrections and resending those records for processing.
  • Adding new physician in datamap
  • Transferring weekly data to partner hospitals.
  • Cardiac Cathlab Transcriptions system failed. Designed new interface pathways to have another transcription vendor take over the work load.
  • Winding up the ADT interface to Nebo. Valued the PV1.10 service with the outpatient location to satisfy the last outstanding issue.
  • Formulated data for test cases to satisfy the requirements for an integration test plan. Built scenarios and created test data for Provider testing and Addendum testing for a transcription interface...
  • Entering the sixth week of ADT data validation for Nebo. Pressing for a go-live data and asking the customer to identify any remaining outstanding issues.
  • Detected a slowdown in the transmission rate of ADT data to Nebo. Opened up debugging options do some analysis of acknowledgements. Nebo reported that eGate Integrator was closing the connection. The connection log data indicated that eGate was closing the connection as a result of a NAK. The eGate configuration was set to close and reconnect if a NAK was received. The MSA segment was captured for the NAK and emailed to NEBO for analysis. They are working to resolve the issue.
  • Rewrote part of the Dreyer Integration test plan as a result of some discovery items uncovered during unit testing. Organized the testing team for Dreyer Transcription testing which evolved resources from three software vendors (Transolutions, Meditech and Epic Systems) and user analyst from two hospitals (Aurora and Dreyer). Set the dates and time for the integration test and distributed the final version of the Integration test plan to all member of the team.
  • Building an exec to utilize the STC command line interface to report on the message traffic for each subscriber (published vs. unpublished messages). The program will be executed by an eGate collaboration.
