Healthcare Technical Services Projects for Aug 29 |
- Validated IP Addresses and port numbers for projects connecting to RapidLink vendor in new JCAPS 5.1.3 Production environment
- Modified Java Collaboration Definition jcdOutPmmMfnEpic to only send one PKG segment to Epic
- Built new projects and all necessary components in JCAPS 5.1.3 Production environment for interaction between Pyxis and Epic at the Sycamore Hospital only
- Built and deployed all deployment profiles for project prjCommonFramework in JCAPS 5.1.3 Production environment
- Coordinated with vendor for them to send to Production Epic JCAPS 5.1.3 instead of CareCast JCAPS 5.1.3
- Assisted Integration Staff in troubleshooting JCAPS 5.1.3 production performance issues
- Performed troubleshooting and delivered resolution for JCAPS Exception email notifications not working within Epic JCAPS 5.1.3 environment
- Performed troubleshooting and delivered resolution for RapidLink results conversion project not working within Epic JCAPS 5.1.3 environment
- Scripted Perl script to compare Inbound and Outbound log files to determine messages that did not get delivered to ancillary system
- Reviewed 267 production interface routes and associated ports to create options for table redesign (currently 3 production table instances). Analysis focused on grouping like interfaces and creating appropriate and minimal number of “bridge interfaces” between the table instances.
- Wrote script to identify which translations were passing specific segments (e.g. AL1).
- Prepared interfaces for testing with web services broker (via traditional HL7 2.x TCP/IP communications) and attended meetings designed to determine broker support requirements.
- Support production and test environments as needed.
- Heartland Cardiology Lab Results – Worked Heartland and Medinformatix to successfully configure, set-up and test the VPN tunnel for this interface.
- Heartland Cardiology Lab Results – Completed changes to “provider” data map and code to map Heartland provider mnemonics to their respective National Provider Identifier (NPI). This change was completed before integrated testing based on a request from Heartland to implement the mapping in support of an “inbox notification” feature in Medinformatix based on the NPI for a Heartland provider in the Ordering Provider (OBR.16) field.
- Heartland Cardiology Lab Results – Worked with Medinformatix to negotiate the installation of Medinformatix interface software for lab results. Subsequently, completed successful connectivity test from e*Gate (AEGT03) to the new lab results HL7 listener on the Medinformatix server at Heartland.
- Heartland Cardiology Lab Results – Worked with multiple members of the team to ultimately complete successful test of 5 lab result messages with verification that the data displayed properly in the patient’s Medinformatix chart.
- Heartland Cardiology Lab Results – During initial message testing, identified 2 format issues (invalid QAK segment and incorrect MSH encoding character value) with the HL7 ACK payload returned by Medinformatix for the first 2 messages. Subsequently, worked to fix both issues with the ACK payload and subsequent testing were successful (format issues resolved).
- Heartland Cardiology Text Reports – Worked to identify the fact that the Medinformatix text reports HL7 interface will have to be paid for and installed before we can move forward with plans to send text reports.
- Heartland Cardiology Text Reports – Completed final e*Gate build work and coding to implement support for text reports from Meditech to Medinformatix. This work included collaboration rule script refinements, data map set for future report type mapping, creation of file eaters and implementation of separate HL7 Outbound connection since Medinformatix requires a separate port connection for text reports.
- Conversion (NPR Extract to MIDAS) – Worked to complete the automation of the schedule for this interface. The process runs at 3:00 AM and the e*Gate process runs at 6:00 AM. Monitored the results of processing daily.
- Conversion (NPR Extract to MIDAS) – Identified an issue with “empty” files received from NPR Extract process after the automation. If the NPR Extract does not yield any data, the process writes a file with a couple lines of text stating “no data qualified”. This caused an Exception within the e*Gate the first time it occurred after the automation. Subsequently, I completed a fix to the code to log the receipt of an “empty” file and move on gracefully (no Exception).
- e*Gate Overview Training – Created 2 documents in advance of training. The first document, a bullet list agenda for the training session. The second document, a data flow diagram of e*Gate modules to be built during the training sessions.
- e*Gate Overview Training – Set up Web-Ex invites and delivered two training sessions, each approximately 3 hours in length on Tuesday (8/24) and Wednesday (8/25).
- e*Gate Overview Training – After the training, completed build of the entire e*Gate “Training” module architecture on the AEGT03 server in order to make that architecture available after the training.
- Reviewed and modified the NovoPath Results interface.
- Coded the Epic to Eclipsys charge interface.

- Created new domain and added all the external components required.
- Created deployment profile for all the 7 interfaces.
- Built and deployed all of them and verified that they were running without issue.
- Verified the JCD code in the new Environment for Epic prod.
- Recreated one of the interface in the current production as it suddenly stopped working and was affecting LABs.
- One conf. call everyday at 5:00 PM. eventually need to do the changes if they come up during the conf. call.
- Verified the port and IP in the Epic Bridges.
- Reviewed site visit notes and created diagram to reflect Radiology system components for client.
