Adapters and Scalable HIE Solutions |
 Orchestrate Healthcare is committed to a strategy of scalable healthcare information exchange (HIE). Healthcare has been reliant on inefficient integration and transaction processing technology that requires every developer to start at the very beginning when developing a systems interface or transaction variant, and this often translates into higher costs. For example, a hospital that needs to connect to the same external trading partners (labs, patient medication history data provider, etc.), now can leverage those data sources' "adapters" and start by consuming an interface and information exchange protocol that requires much less code development e.g., the trading partner’s WSDL.
We are working in a few different ways to bring these benefits to our clients:
- Development of interfaces and information exchange capabilities that are more easily replicable, e.g. through the use of transferable web services versions of interfaces or transaction variants.
- Working to 'productize' interfaces and adapters so that they are more easily replicated, and then passing along savings to our clients
- Participating in healthcare information exchange forums and professional groups that are leveraging web services and SOA to develop adapters
